Library Rules
GENERAL LIBRARY RULES
All users entering the library must scan their ID cards at the scanner available at the Security Counter/Check Point.
• Bags and other non-essential belongings should be deposited at the entrance. Do not leave valuables at the Security Counter/Check Point, as the library cannot take responsibility for personal items.
• Upon leaving the library, any borrowed materials should be presented at the exit for a quick check.
• Borrower cards are for personal use only and are non-transferable. Library users must borrow materials under their own name to ensure responsibility.
• To maintain a peaceful environment for everyone, library users are encouraged to observe silence and refrain from activities that might disturb others.
• Beverages and food are not permitted inside the library.
• Please treat all books and resources with care to avoid any damage, as they are valuable for both current and future users. If you notice any damage to a book before borrowing it, kindly inform the Circulation Staff immediately.
• Members have the privilege of direct access to shelves in the stack halls. It is important to maintain the arrangement of books on the shelves for the convenience of all members.
• Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode, and users should refrain from activities that might disturb others.
• All visitors are expected to maintain respectful and considerate behavior at all times.
• In the case of any rule violations or misconduct, the library reserves the right to suspend membership.
• A fine of Rs. 2/- per day will be charged for overdue books. If a book is lost or damaged, the library user will be required to either replace it or pay double the cost of the book.

Notes:
• Books can be renewed online or in-person at the library only once, provided there are no reservations for that book.
• The loan period for a book will be reduced if it receives three reservations.
• Reference books are not available for borrowing by any library user.
